At First Hawaiian Bank we're proud of the role that we play in improving the lives of families and individuals in the communities in which we live and work. In 2007, the First Hawaiian Bank Foundation supported more than 350 agencies, providing $3.7 million for health, education, human services, religious programs, culture and the arts.
Our ongoing priority is providing brighter futures for youth throughout our community, fostered by our belief that this will ultimately bring long-term benefits. We continue to support programs and people who are dedicated to solving our community's problems, extending opportunities for young and old, and enriching lives throughout the Hawaiian islands, Guam and Saipan.
Each year in the spirit of lokomaika 'i, or giving, First Hawaiian Bank employees also step forward without hesitation to assist those in need. They give generously through charitable donations and with their own time and talent.
As Hawaii's oldest and largest financial institution, First Hawaiian has deep roots in these islands. Through our collective actions large and small, we believe that if we work together, our friends, family and neighbors can have a thriving community. We invite you to read through the pages in this section and learn more about First Hawaiian's role in the community.
