BANK EMPLOYEES PLEDGE RECORD AMOUNT
TO COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN

First Hawaiian Raises $5780,000 to Benefit 25 Community Charities

(Honolulu, Hawaii, November 30, 2007) - First Hawaiian Bank recently completed its workplace charitable giving campaign and employees responded by pledging a record $578,000, according to an announcement today by First Hawaiian Bank President and Chief Executive Officer Don Horner.

The inaugural effort, called Kōkua Mai which in Hawaiian means “to help others,” will directly benefit 25 local charities in Hawaii, Guam and Saipan, including the United Way organizations statewide.

First Hawaiian employees and retirees had the option of designating a portion or all of their contribution to any of the participating charities. The campaign is administered by the bank and 100% of the donations go directly to the charity. Nine out of every ten bank employees participated in the effort.

“I am extremely proud of our employees and retirees for their caring spirit,” Horner said. “The level of giving and participation by the First Hawaiian Ohana is a tangible expression of the Aloha that the employees have for their communities.”

First Hawaiian Bank and its Foundation is the largest corporate contributor to non-profits in Hawaii. In 2006, the Foundation contributed over $3.5 million to benefit 360 charities throughout Hawaii, Guam and Saipan.

First Hawaiian Bank (www.fhb.com) with $12.5 billion in assets is Hawaii's oldest and largest bank. Today the bank has 58 branches in Hawaii, three on Guam and two on Saipan.
